We Guest Edit Cent Magazine!!

http://digital.centmagazine.co.uk/   Paris Essex had a fantastic time selecting some of our favourite inspirations for an issue of the brilliant free online Cent Magazine . The theme of the issue is Real Life and Role Play.  This is a reflection of the two sided approach that we have. Reality is important as  we see life in an unpretentious, practical  down to earth way, but we always juxtapose with playful, unexpected , unpredictable, silly or subversive, decorative or fanciful

Loads to read and see including articles about lesser known pleasures like   The Hackney Clown Gallery and Museum and Donna Maria's Maypole  as well as designers and artists we know and/ or love - Knitters Freddie Robins, Sam Barsky    and lots more. Great interview with Louise melchior our fave photo-collaborator , and a chance to see some of her other work too!!

Paris Essex x Louise Melchior photo collaboration in hARTSlane group show

Exhibition Open | 9-21 March 2018, Friday-Sunday, 2-6pm
Artists talk & performance | Wednesday 21st of March, 6-9pm

As part of ROOM 6.3 / Dear London (November 2017-May 2018), hARTslane is presenting New Narratives, where we celebrate the empty, forgotten buildings in London and imagine a new use for them, a new relation between people and space, where humanity is at heart.
The show brings together architects, designers and artists who are invited to present projects and ideas where empty unusual spaces are reconfigured and used for social rather than economic benefit.

House Beautiful feature on design businesswomen

This is a first!! Paris Essex get a mention as #IWD design businesswomen..!! #PressforProgress

Happy International Women's Day!

This year’s theme is #PressforProgress; a strong call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity.

Here on House Beautiful online, we’re celebrating the great work of brilliant women who are making, or have made, a splash in the design world. Some are juggling day jobs and families, others have taken financial risks to live out their dream, but the one thing that truly unites them (other than being a woman) is that they've all founded their own businesses through lots of hard work and determination – and that in itself is a sign of success.
